Family Mourns Katie Slaton
The 1000-Lb. Sisters family is grieving after the death of Katie Slaton, cousin to Amy and Tammy Slaton.
She passed away Monday, August 25, at 37, following a battle with stage four gastric adenocarcinoma.
“Completely Crushed Heart”
Amanda Halterman confirmed the news on Instagram, writing:
“It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this.
My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday…
She was the life of the party and my best friend.”
She asked fans to “please pray for everyone who loves her.”
Tammy’s Earlier Plea
Earlier this year, Tammy shared a GoFundMe for Katie’s treatment, saying:“Y’all I’m so sorry to be asking a big favor like this… any act of kindness is and will be greatly appreciated.”
Remembering Katie
Born in Kentucky, Katie was known for her warm personality and love for family.
She appeared on season five of the TLC series and became a fan favorite.
