4-Year-Old Boy Tragically Dies Outside Kent Hospital
A community in Margate, Kent, is mourning the loss of four-year-old Zaahir Jan, who died after an accident involving a bus outside Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital on August 7, 2025. Zaahir had been visiting his grandmother with his family when the incident occurred near the hospital’s A&E entrance shortly after 4 p.m.
Kent Police reported that Zaahir had just left the hospital when the collision took place. Emergency crews quickly brought him back inside for treatment, but he sadly passed away. Authorities have informed his family, and an appeal has been made for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to assist the ongoing investigation.
Zaahir, the youngest of five siblings, is remembered by his mother, Azaria, as “our sweet funny boy with a cheeky smile that could make anyone’s heart full.” The tragedy has been especially difficult for the family, coming less than a week after the death of a close relative. Friends and neighbors have expressed shock and offered condolences to the grieving family.
A fundraising campaign has been launched to help with funeral costs, with community members and strangers alike contributing in support. Tributes have poured in across social media, reflecting the love and warmth Zaahir brought to those around him. The family says they are deeply grateful for the kindness shown during this heartbreaking time.
