Phoenix doesn’t look like your average dog, but that doesn’t matter to him. He’s no different than any other puppy, but sadly, many people don’t see him that way. His appearance often scares people and makes them look away. But he’s just a sweet dog who wants someone to love and understand him. His looks don’t stop him. So he’s ready to show the world how amazing he is.
Skiatook Paws & Claws Animal Rescue in Oklahoma fell in love with Phoenix instantly. Someone who saw him eventually called the shelter for help. When the staff learned of Phoenix’s unique appearance, they didn’t think twice. They were determined to save him.
The shelter has no idea why Phoenix looks that way. When they found him, he wasn’t afraid of humans. In fact, he was a very happy dog. He kept wagging his tail and always wanted to play and be loved. It was clear that whatever had happened to him hadn’t affected his affectionate nature.
Skiatook Paws & Claws regularly posts updates on Phoenix’s incredible journey. He’s received a lot of love, and many people have donated to help with his medical expenses.
Family Animal Medicine has worked hard to help Phoenix as much as possible. They discovered he likely has an autoimmune disease, but they’re still unsure which one. He’s doing much better now than when he arrived.
Phoenix is grateful to see so many people willing to support him. The staff is doing everything they can to make his life as comfortable and exciting as possible. And he certainly seems happy! After a difficult life, Phoenix can finally show that true beauty comes from within.
