Helen, a sad and heartbroken pup, spent most of her life as a stray on the harsh streets of Romania. One day, a tourist noticed her and felt sympathy for the poor dog. She contacted Howl of a Dog, a rescue group, to help. After learning that Helen had been living on the streets for years, the tourist stayed with her until the rescuers arrived.
Helen was taken in by the group, given a name, and examined by a vet. She was malnourished and suffering from a tick-borne disease, but with proper care and antibiotics, she soon recovered. After her health improved, a family from the Netherlands adopted her, giving her the loving home she had always deserved.
Helen’s story is a beautiful reminder that even small acts of kindness can create a huge impact on a life.
