Tensions flared outside a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event in California tonight when a group of protesters tried to breach security barricades, leading to a violent scuffle with police.
According to witnesses, a crowd gathered outside the venue shortly before the event began, chanting and waving signs. As the crowd pushed closer to the entrance, officers stepped in to form a line and keep the situation under control.
Moments later, one protester refused repeated police commands to move back and appeared to push toward the barricade. An officer grabbed the individual by the arm, and as resistance continued, the protester was dragged down and briefly slammed to the ground before being detained.
Videos of the takedown have since gone viral online, showing police pulling the protester several feet across the pavement as others screamed in the background. The incident drew mixed reactions, with some online users saying the officer “went too far,” while others argued the protester “asked for it” after refusing orders.
