Highway Patrol Officer Does The Kindest Thing For Dog Alone In The Rain

It was pouring rain when a solitary dog wandered onto a busy highway in Kingsport, Tennessee.

The dog could have easily been hurt, especially due to the road’s conditions. Wind and water lashed the cars’ windshields, making it difficult for drivers to see much of anything.

But the keen eye and quick thinking of one person helped save the dog’s life.

A police officer named Lance Willis said he immediately noticed “some kind of animal” on the road. When he inched closer, he realized it was a brown German shepherd dog.

“There were cars in both lanes that were stopped, so I put on my blue lights because people usually stop when they see blue lights,” Trooper Willis said in a video interview published on the Facebook page for the Tennessee Highway Patrol. “I called into the radio so they knew where I was.”
