With Nowhere Else To Go, Mother Dog Burrows Into Snowdrift And Wraps Her Body Around Her Puppies
A mother’s love is unmatched, especially when protecting her puppies.
In a harsh Minnesota winter, Snowbelle, a stray dog, dug a hole in the snow to shelter her six puppies. After being rescued, the puppies were starving, but Snowbelle quickly recovered and nursed them back to health. Four puppies were adopted right away, while Snowbelle and two of her puppies, Barry and Della, stayed in foster care longer before finding homes.
Snowbelle, needing time to trust humans, was placed in a foster home, where she learned to socialize and became spayed. She was eventually adopted by a woman who had followed her story. A year later, one of Snowbelle’s puppies was also happily adopted and thriving.
“This is my Pepper from that litter. She’s my whole heart and soul,” the puppy’s grateful owner continued. “Thank you for saving these guys, I can’t imagine my life without her. ”
Congratulations to Asha, Pepper, and their new families! We’re glad this harrowing tale includes a happy ending for everyone involved.
