Tootsie’s rehabilitation included regular acupuncture three times a week, coupled with daily exercises aimed at strengthening her legs. Her caregivers provided her with a safe and nurturing environment, attending to her needs around the clock. Despite their devoted care, the one thing they couldn’t provide was a permanent home. This inability was particularly heart-wrenching for those who witnessed Tootsie’s courageous struggle. Even with her extensive health challenges, Tootsie began showing signs of improvement. Her appetite increased, and her spirit appeared to lift, kindling hope among her caregivers that she might one day find a loving home to live out her remaining days in comfort and warmth. Tragically, Tootsie’s valiant body could no longer endure, and she passed away peacefully, marking an end to her battle.
