Puppy Watches Whole Family Get Adopted And Wonders Why She Wasn’t Chosen
This past February, rescuers at Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) put out a call for help when they met a sweet dog family in desperate need of safety. Mama Sky and her six puppies were feeling frail after so much time on their own. They needed a space to recover and grow. They soon found one, thanks to a generous foster dad named Nick, who offered to nurse the family back to health and eventually help them find homes.

Comfortable in Nick’s care, the puppies and their mom regained their former glow. Once everyone felt healthy enough, Nick loaded the family into his special “Adopt A Pup” truck, which he often uses to help raise awareness for adoptable rescue dogs.

In time, Mama Sky and five of her babies met their perfect matches and headed home to begin their new lives. Unfortunately, the last puppy, a friendly girl named Rainbow, didn’t meet anyone who wanted her.

“Everyone was so shocked that Rainbow was the last puppy left,” a representative from MLAR told The Dodo. “The day her brother was chosen and she was left behind, it broke our hearts, but we knew her special person was out there.”
Foster dad Nick and rescuers at MLAR know how special Rainbow is, and they can’t wait for her to find her people.
“Rainbow is a total doll!” the representative said. “She is your typical happy, sweet, adorable, loving puppy! You could not find a sweeter little puppy in the world! She loves to play, romp around and collect all the sticks in the yard — we always called her ‘The Branch Manager!’”
Rescuers feel confident that Rainbow will find a home soon. This puppy’s story will ultimately be a happy one, made possible by the scores of animal lovers who saw a fuzzy friend in need and refused to look the other way.
“[T]his isn’t just about one puppy — it’s about the bigger picture,” Main Line Animal Rescue wrote in a post. “It’s about the foster heroes who pour their hearts into saving lives. It’s about the forgotten ones who stay behind when everyone else gets chosen. It’s about how we, as a community, can come together and change everything for one tiny life.”
