Stray Pit Bull Jumps In to Save Woman from Knife Attack by Man

A stray Pit Bull is being called a hero after saving a woman from a knife attack in Baldwin, Georgia. The dog intervened during a violent argument between a man and a woman, and was stabbed five times while protecting her.

When Officers Daniel Seeley and Sgt. Timothy Clay arrived, they found the dog bleeding heavily on the ground. The woman told them the dog had jumped in to defend her. The officers rushed the injured dog to a nearby animal hospital, refusing to let him suffer after his brave act.

Thanks to quick medical care, the dog—now named Hero—survived, though he was also found to have heartworm. Carla Welch from Fighting For The Bullys rescue stepped in to help fund his treatment and brought him to her home in Tennessee.

Described as gentle and calm despite his tough past, Hero quickly captured hearts online. Adoption requests poured in, and after months of waiting, he finally found a forever home with Sara and David Simpson. Now living happily with their other dogs, Hero is adjusting well.

“I’m so proud to give a home to someone who never had one,” Sara said. “To me, dogs are family.”

Hero’s brave actions not only saved a life but gave him the chance at a new, loving one of his own.
