Truck Driver Takes Break In Missouri Park, Only To Discover Something Shocking In A Trash Can
In Missouri, a truck driver taking a break in a park noticed a small puppy inside a tub placed on top of a trash can. He quickly contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis before heading back on the road. Rescuers, including Donna Lochmann, arrived that night and used a thermal camera to find the puppy, who had wandered into nearby bushes.
The pup, later named Flir, was lethargic and very sick with parvovirus. He required emergency care, blood transfusions, and constant monitoring. Despite the odds, Flir fought hard to survive—and he made it, thanks to his rescuers and a supportive community.
Once recovered, Flir went into foster care, where his loving personality began to shine. Soon after, a woman named Stephanie Meyer Schmitz and her family adopted him, renamed him Oliver, and gave him the happy home he deserved. They even adopted another puppy, Poppy, as his companion.
Oliver now lives a joyful life, surrounded by love and care—all because someone cared enough to make a call and a rescue team refused to give up.
