She is the wife of a Hollywood actor and his college sweetheart who supported him before he became famous—they’ve been together for almost five decades.

Eric Braeden, known for his iconic role as Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless, moved to the U.S. from Germany to pursue his dreams. He met his future wife, Dale Russell, while studying at Santa Monica State College, and the two married in 1966. Over 50 years later, they remain a strong couple. Dale, who briefly had a career in performance before becoming an interior designer, has always been Braeden’s biggest supporter, offering guidance in both his personal and professional life.

Together, they raised their son, Christian Gudegast, a successful producer and director. Despite facing challenges, including Braeden’s recent cancer diagnosis, their enduring partnership has remained a cornerstone of his life. He credits Dale for encouraging him to take his career seriously, including pushing him to write his memoirs. Braeden continues to embrace life with gratitude, saying, “I love my life,” and has no plans to retire anytime soon.
