Stray Cat Caught In Fence Gets Rescued — And Reunited With Someone Special
In February, a cat was found hanging from a fence with her paw stuck between wooden slats. Local police quickly called Frankie Floridia, president of Strong Island Animal Rescue League, fearing the injury could require amputation.
By the time Floridia arrived, the police had freed the black-and-white cat, who was unable to walk properly. She was taken to Long Island Spay and Neuter for X-rays. Thankfully, her leg was only sprained, not broken, and she was treated with anti-inflammatories, antibiotics, and vaccines.
That night, a woman named Lori Ressa saw the rescue post online and realized the cat—named Christina—was one she had been feeding. In fact, Ressa had helped TNR Christina’s colony years ago and had adopted two of her kittens eight years prior.
Now, Christina is fully recovered and living happily indoors with Ressa, enjoying a safe and loving forever home.
