After tornadoes struck St. Louis, Missouri, most people found shelter—but one dog was left chained outside as trees fell around her.
Neighbors heard cries from a pile of debris and called Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL). Rescuers found a terrified dog, later named Love Is The Answer (LITA), trapped behind an abandoned house. She’d been padlocked to a chain and couldn’t escape.
“She’s been back there, so scared and all alone since Friday,” SRSL wrote.
Miraculously, LITA survived. Rescuers believe fallen trees landed on old cars instead of her, saving her life. With some treats and patience, they freed her. She was physically okay—and now safe, loved, and finally free.
