In spring 2017, four tiny kittens were found inside a hay bale at Kentucky’s Jeptha Creed Distillery. With no mother in sight and clearly starving, the staff quickly took them in. Already considering getting a cat, they adopted all four, naming them Malt, Wheat, Barley, and Rye after distillery ingredients. The team bottle-fed them, and over the years, the kittens grew into happy, healthy adult cats. They now enjoy life at the distillery—lounging by day and acting as night-time security. All four are rare female orange cats and have become beloved mascots, bringing joy to staff and visitors alike.
