The remarkable incident was brought to light by Zoorprendente, highlighting the dog’s extraordinary instincts and actions.While exploring the area, Blacky stumbled upon a newborn left in a pile of garbage and immediately knew the baby needed help.Without hesitation, the determined pup ran to the nearest road where he caught the attention of Junrell Fuentes Revilla, a biker passing by. Initially, Junrell noted that Blacky seemed scared rather than aggressive, which prompted him to follow the dog’s lead.
To his astonishment, Junrell discovered a baby wrapped in a towel, still with its umbilical cord and placenta, abandoned in a secluded area atop the mountain. Acting swiftly, he took the baby to the nearest hospital and reported the incident to the police.
Commenting on the remoteness of the location, Gea Ybarita from the rescue organization Hope for Strays mentioned, “The place where the baby was found is isolated because it is on top of the mountain.”Despite the challenges, this quick intervention ensured the baby was transferred to the local Department of Child Protection, while efforts to trace those responsible for the abandonment continue.
Blacky’s heroic deed quickly spread through the community, earning him admiration and gratitude. Volunteers eager to find and help Blacky soon discovered he wasn’t a stray; he was part of a family with three other dogs.
The owner shared, “No matter how hard life is, even though I’m poor, I feed all my dogs and take good care of them,” said Ybarita.
The community rallied around Blacky and his family, providing them with food and supplies. Hope for Strays also honored them, recognizing the love and bravery that Blacky exemplified through his life-saving actions.
