Puppies often find themselves in sticky situations, from eating things they shouldn’t—like carpet lint or snow salt—to getting into a scuffle with a bigger dog.
However, Rebel, a playful German Shepherd puppy from Riverside County, California, found himself in an unusual predicament this week.
The 8-month-old pup spent much of his Monday afternoon stuck in an unexpected spot: a cinder block wall. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Rebel slightly injured and confused, yet still in good spirits despite his predicament.
According to an official report, both officers assessed the situation and determined that there was sufficient space between the wall and Rebel’s head, allowing them to proceed with the rescue without dismantling the wall or causing further harm to the young dog.
One officer managed Rebel’s head from one side while the other handled his body from the opposite side. To ensure Rebel’s comfort during the process, Officer Palafox gently tucked the dog’s ears back.
After some careful maneuvering and about 30 minutes of effort, the officers successfully freed Rebel from his entrapment.
Thanks to the officers’ quick thinking and delicate handling, Rebel was soon back to his normal, tail-wagging self, none the worse for his unique adventure.
