Karine de Sousa, a 33-year-old woman from Brazil, has battled a rare skin condition called Xeroderma Pigmentosum since childhood, which makes her extremely sensitive to sunlight. The condition has led to numerous surgeries to remove cancerous growths.
Despite these hardships, her husband Edmilson has remained a constant source of support. During a hospital visit, Karine received troubling news about nodules in her lungs and painful lesions on her back—both requiring surgery. Around the same time, she also found out she was pregnant.
