After her husband yelled at her for planning a romantic dinner, she left the house—and hours later, a police officer showed up at their door…

On Valentine’s Day, Cora was filled with excitement, preparing a surprise dinner for her husband, Eric. She wore a red dress from their first anniversary and decorated the house with candles, lights, and his favorite food. She also had a special gift—a box containing two tickets to Hawaii and a note revealing she’d just gotten a job to help ease his burdens.

But when Eric came home, he was furious. Stressed and overwhelmed by work, he lashed out, accusing Cora of wasting money and being a poor homemaker. He shouted, criticized her cooking, and threw the gift on the floor. Hurt and frustrated, Cora left to buy diapers for their crying triplets.

An hour later, the doorbell rang. It wasn’t Cora—it was a police officer. Cora had died in a car accident.

Shocked and devastated, Eric struggled to cope. After her funeral, he found the unopened gift box. Inside were plane tickets and a heartfelt note explaining her plans to return to work and surprise him with a vacation.

Crushed by guilt, Eric dedicated himself to raising their children. He never fell in love again. Each Valentine’s Day, he visits Cora’s grave, talking to her and asking for the forgiveness he’ll never stop seeking.
