‘Crusty Little Gremlin’ Hopes To Score Forever Home Despite Unique Appearance
The Dekalb Humane Society recently took in a tiny, scruffy kitten who stood out from the rest — nicknamed Sewer Rat for his disheveled look.
“He’s a kitten. Allegedly,” DHS joked. “He looks like he crawled out of a haunted crawlspace.”
Found alone in the middle of a road at a trailer park, the orphaned kitten was in rough shape. A vet check revealed he had a severe case of ringworm, a contagious fungal infection causing patchy fur and discomfort.
Despite this, the 7-week-old kitten was sweet and affectionate. “He’s a little angel,” said DHS director Teresa Feightner. “Gentle, resilient, and weirdly charming.”
Now in foster care, Sewer Rat has captured the hearts of everyone at DHS. To them, he’s not just a stray — he’s a special kitten who deserves all the love in the world.
