Josephine, affectionately called “Pheenie,” was abandoned after her owner was deported and lived alone for 9 years behind a shipping container in a junkyard. Surviving on scraps from kind townspeople, she endured harsh conditions, and over time, her health severely declined.
By the time Hope For Paws rescued her, Pheenie was a senior dog suffering from numerous health issues, including the loss of an eye, infections, and tumors. Despite her pain, she quickly understood she was finally being saved, and her gratitude was clear.
Pheenie spent her last five months in a loving foster home on a spacious farm, where she was cherished and cared for until she peacefully passed away. Though her life was filled with hardship, her final days were filled with comfort and love. Rest in peace, sweet Pheenie.
