Driver Checks Under Her Car And Sees A Foot Hanging Out Of The Engine

When a woman heard barking outside her house, she checked her security footage and saw someone run under her car—but never come out. Curious, she looked under the car and found a dog stuck in the engine compartment.

She called the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), and rescuers Ruthie Jesus and McKenzie Dunnington arrived quickly. To their surprise, it was a full-grown dog, later named Nova—likely the first adult dog ever rescued from a car engine in AHS history.

It took just 15 minutes to free Nova. Once out, she showered her rescuers with kisses before heading to the vet. Despite the ordeal, she only had minor ear injuries and is now ready for adoption.

Nova, a sweet and playful 49-pound pup, is looking for a forever home where she can share her boundless energy and affection.
