Frightened Dog Wouldn’t Let Anyone Near Her — Then An ‘Angel’ Arrived
For over a week, a skinny, scared black dog was seen roaming the streets of Youngstown, Ohio. Abandoned and limping, she avoided anyone who tried to help.
Deputy Keith Stokes had tried for days to catch her, but she wouldn’t come near. Finally, with Officer Megan Feidler’s gentle approach, the dog began to trust. Feidler sat on the ground, spoke softly, and comforted her until she was calm enough to be leashed.
Once in the van, the dog quickly fell asleep, exhausted. She was later named Maeve and found to have a broken hip, now being treated by Friends of Fido Animal Rescue.
Feidler was praised as an “angel” for her compassion, helping Maeve feel safe and begin her journey to a better life.
