“I can’t remember the last time I ate well…”
In a forgotten corner of the city, a dog lay sprawled on a piece of damp cardboard. His body, emaciated and limp, showed skin peeling away in patches, revealing open wounds and raw areas. His ears, once erect and curious, now drooped heavily, as if bearing the full weight of his suffering. His eyes, dull with hunger and pain, barely opened to continue observing a world that had ignored him for too long.
For days, he had wandered the streets in search of something to eat: scraps of stale bread, forgotten crusts, anything. His gait slowed, his steps grew shorter. The indifference of passersby had turned him into an urban ghost, invisible to most.
But everything changed one rainy afternoon. A woman, seeing him, stopped in the downpour. She didn’t look away or quicken her pace. She approached slowly, crouched down, and spoke softly. The dog, accustomed to blows and shouts, remained still, as if assessing whether it was safe this time. And then… a warm hand wrapped around him.

That hand not only lifted him physically, but also pulled him out of an abyss of loneliness. She carried him, wrapped in a blanket, to the nearest veterinary clinic. The diagnosis was severe: extreme malnutrition, dehydration, anemia, and several skin infections. Despite this, the veterinarian assured him that with intensive care and lots of love, he had a chance of recovery.
The dog was given a name: Faithful . And from that day on, every meal, every caress, and every kind word began to slowly erase the scars of his past. He learned that humans can give affection too, that not all hands hit, and that there are looks that convey home.

Today, Fiel lives in a foster home, sleeps on a soft bed, and no longer fears going without food. His story is a reminder that, even in the darkest times, a single act of kindness can restore life… and faith in love.
Because sometimes, rescuing isn’t just about saving a body: it’s about rebuilding a broken heart.
