Twelve-year-old Maia Gough from Wales made a memorable entrance on Britain’s Got Talent, accompanied by a strong support system—her mom, dad, grandmother, grandfather, and the rest of her entourage. “So all of Wales, basically,” joked judge David Williams.
When asked which song she’d perform, Maia confidently chose “I Have Nothing” by her idol, Whitney Houston.
This raised a few eyebrows among the judges, with skeptical glances exchanged, particularly between Simon and the others, as they wondered if a young voice could do justice to such a challenging song.
However, any doubts quickly disappeared once Maia began singing. She poured all her energy and passion into the performance, leaving the judges in awe of how a twelve-year-old could handle such a demanding track with such poise.
