Patel Uncovers ‘Burn Bags’ Inside a Hidden Government Office

Kash Patel Discovers Hidden Cache of Classified ‘Burn Bags’
Kash Patel, FBI Director, reportedly uncovered a secret collection of “burn bags”—containers used to destroy classified documents—inside a concealed room at FBI headquarters. Among the materials was a previously unreleased 29-page secret appendix to Special Counsel John Durham’s 2023 report on the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.
Sources indicate these documents originate from the 2016 Crossfire Hurricane investigation, which probed alleged connections between Trump’s campaign and Russia. Fox News Digital first reported the find, and the New York Post later confirmed the existence of the hidden FBI room containing these classified files.
It remains uncertain whether the documents were accidentally missed or deliberately preserved. The classified appendix is currently under review for potential declassification and may be handed over to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley for possible public disclosure, though no timeline has been announced.
The appendix reportedly includes intelligence showing that foreign agencies warned the U.S. government the FBI might be pushing a misleading narrative of Trump-Kremlin collusion before the investigation even began.
A senior team, including Patel, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, DNI Tulsi Gabbard, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and acting NSA Director William Hartman, is reviewing the materials.
Former President Donald Trump commented on the discovery, stating:
“I want everything to be shown… as long as it’s fair and reasonable.”
The Crossfire Hurricane investigation eventually led to the Mueller probe, which found contacts between Trump associates and Russians but no proof of criminal conspiracy. Durham later concluded that the FBI lacked proper grounds to open the investigation in the first place.
Patel, who led the 2017 House Intelligence Committee investigation with Rep. Devin Nunes, previewed the discovery last month on the Joe Rogan podcast:
“I found a room in the Hoover Building—kept hidden by James Comey and others—full of files and hard drives no one outside the bureau even knew existed.”
Adding to the controversy, DNI Tulsi Gabbard recently released documents alleging a “treasonous conspiracy” by Obama-era officials to undermine Trump before his inauguration. Gabbard’s documents claim internal Obama administration files initially stated Russia did not influence the 2016 election—until the FBI under Comey intervened.
In response, former CIA Director John Brennan and ex-DNI James Clapper dismissed Gabbard’s allegations in a New York Times op-ed, labeling them “patently false.” They agreed Russia had not altered vote counts but maintained that Moscow did influence U.S. public opinion in 2016.
They argued the true politicization was the manipulation of intelligence by Trump-appointed officials who were expected to stay apolitical.
