Officer Daniel Caramello of Rancho Cordova, California, found a black German Shepherd named Ronin while responding to a trespassing call. After learning the dog had no owner or home, Caramello decided to adopt him. Though Ronin was scared at first and the officer’s daughter was unsure around dogs, they quickly bonded. Now, Ronin is a beloved part of the family, and Caramello says he looks forward to seeing him every day. Their unexpected meeting turned into a lifelong friendship.
