While working on a home renovation on El Hierro, a small Spanish island, two friends discovered a taped cardboard box near a dumpster. Inside were five abandoned puppies. Shocked, they contacted the animal rescue group El Juaclo.
A volunteer named Vanesa arrived to help, and the pups were taken to safety. The next day, a sixth puppy was found nearby and reunited with the others in foster care. Though they seemed healthy at first, the pups soon fell ill. Thankfully, after 48 hours of antibiotics, they recovered and were doing well.
