In Fresno, California, a dog named Leroy was trapped in a cement hole, looking up for help. A nearby photographer spotted him and called animal control.
Rescuers arrived quickly and lifted Leroy to safety. Despite the ordeal, Leroy was calm and affectionate. The rescue group Compassion Without Borders took him in, and staff were amazed by his sweet nature.
“He was very sweet from the start,” said Christi Camblor, the group’s director and a vet who began fostering him.
Over time, Camblor and her husband grew attached. “It was love at first sight,” she said, and soon they officially adopted Leroy.
Now, Leroy is a happy, playful pup who loves toys, his dog siblings, and sunbathing in the backyard.
