Stray Kitten Shows Up At Shelter With ‘Extremely Rare’ Mutation

An employee at an auto repair shop found a taped-up box by the back gate — inside were four kittens. She contacted True Rescue in Tennessee, who took them in immediately.

During intake, staff noticed something unusual about one kitten. As Kristin Condit held him, a worker spotted that he had four ears — two regular ones and two smaller, backward-facing ones nestled inside.

The rare congenital mutation surprised the team, who had never seen anything like it. The kitten, later named Audio, could move all four ears, making him even more unique and adorable.
