Terrified Pit Bull Found Hiding in a Box Now Thrives in a Loving Home

When rescuers from Lifeline Animal Project found a frightened, malnourished Pit Bull curled up inside a cardboard plum box, it was clear the dog had shut down.

Terrified and unsure of the world around him, he refused to leave his makeshift shelter.

The team worked patiently to earn his trust, eventually guiding him into a comfortable kennel where he felt safe enough to move freely.

They named him “Plum” after the box he had chosen as his hiding spot.

It didn’t take long for Plum to bond with the staff caring for him. Just a month after his rescue, he found his forever home with Melonie, who instantly saw the sweet, goofy dog beneath the fear.

Melonie describes Plum as kindhearted and silly, embracing his new life with joy. Her other dog took to Plum right away, and the two quickly became inseparable.

While his canine sibling enjoys shredding stuffed toys, Plum prefers carrying them gently from room to room.

Plum also keeps a watchful eye on the family’s cats, peacefully coexisting in his new home. He has left his days of fear and hiding behind, now living a life full of love, comfort, and companionship.

Plum’s transformation is a reminder of what’s possible with patience, kindness, and a second chance. Today, he’s not just surviving—he’s truly thriving.
