Terrified Pup Shakes in Fear After Abuse, Finds Comfort in His Beloved Stuffed Toy

They are protectors, helpers, and even service animals, and in return, they see us as their best friends – their family.When we mistreat them – whether through harshness, neglect, or even just raising our voices – it deeply affects them, often leaving them feeling sad, anxious, or even aggressive. Unfortunately, a pup named Steven knows this all too well.
A Life Full of Fear
Just two weeks ago, Steven was cowering in a small kennel at an overcrowded dog compound, and no one had the time to give him the attention he so desperately needed.
He was terrified and had no understanding of what was happening around him.Thankfully, the compassionate humans at Galgos del Sol heard his story and decided to rescue him from the overcrowded compound. They brought him into their loving organization, which specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating Spanish Greyhounds.This breed, primarily used for hunting, often finds itself abandoned once hunting season ends, with no use for them in the eyes of their hunters. Many are left to roam the streets, discarded and forgotten.While it’s unclear if Steven was one of these abandoned dogs, what was clear to the rescuers was that he needed help.
Healing Is on the Way
Once Steven was safely at the rescue center, the staff shared with the world what happens when an animal is mistreated.In the video, you see Steven, a sweet pup, curled up in the corner of his kennel, leaning against the wall. Hoping to offer him some comfort, the staff placed a stuffed animal by his side.Sadly, this small gesture didn’t provide much relief. Despite their efforts to show Steven love and care, he trembled uncontrollably, too frightened to interact with anyone.Tina Solera, the founder of Galgos del Sol, shared that Steven had an injured leg and needed to see a vet for further evaluation.“Galgos are abandoned in the tens of thousands every year by hunters. Many are run over and rescued with severe injuries,” she said in an interview.
