Kye, a 3-year-old Belgian German Shepherd, was stabbed to death while on duty with his colleagues on August 24. Kye’s funeral was solemnly attended by thousands of people and dozens of police dogs from the Oklahoma City Police Department (USA).

Many police officers kissed the hero dog goodbye.

Kye’s friends were also present at the funeral.
Police officer Ryan Stark, Kye’s colleague on the Oklahoma police force, could not hold back tears as he stood in front of the hero dog’s coffin.

Officer Stark couldn’t hold back his tears at Kye’s funeral.
Police spokesman Dexter Nelson said: “Kye was injured when Stark was on duty to arrest a carjacker on August 24. The 22-year-old suspect fled, leading police to give chase. It was only when a collision occurred that the suspect’s car was stopped. However, at this time he tried to run away. At this time, Kye was close to the thief, but unfortunately the suspect used a knife to stab his body multiple times.”

Witnessing the image of Kye being stabbed multiple times, police officer Stark shot and killed the suspect and the incident is currently under close investigation. Kye died a day after being stabbed repeatedly. Another police officer named Coy Gilbert said “Kye sacrificed himself to save our colleagues”.
