There was a black dog named Shadow who lived in a small village. His fur was as dark as night, and no one in the village wanted him. They whispered that he brought bad luck and would quickly shoo him away whenever he came near. The other dogs had families to play with, but Shadow wandered alone.
One day, an old woman passed through the village. When she saw Shadow, she smiled and gently patted his head. “You’re not bad,” she whispered. But the villagers didn’t like it. “Don’t touch him,” they said, afraid of the dark dog.
The woman left, and Shadow was alone again. He spent his days sitting by the edge of the village, watching the others laugh and play, wishing someone would love him for who he was. But no one ever did.
As time passed, Shadow grew tired. One cold evening, he lay down under a tree, his heart heavy with loneliness. He had always loved others, but no one had ever loved him. And in the quiet of the night, Shadow closed his eyes, never to be seen again.
