This Construction Zone Was Supposedly Empty — Until A Fluffy Face Appeared

Earlier this month in Los Angeles County, a resident noticed a small, fluffy puppy peeking out from beneath a vacant home under construction. The 10-week-old pup was alone, with no sign of her mom or littermates.

Suzette Hall of Logan’s Legacy 29 and volunteer Mary Nakiso rushed to help. They learned the puppy had been surviving on food and water left by a kind neighbor, sleeping on a blanket under the house.

When rescuers approached, the scared pup bolted and hid under a pile of metal in the backyard. With help from a neighbor, they gently cleared the debris and found her—shaking and terrified. Hall softly reassured her and placed her in a humane trap.

Now named Savannah, the puppy was checked at Camino Pet Hospital and found healthy. She’s since been placed in a loving foster home through Second Leash On Life, finally safe and warm.
