Trooper Answers Call About Abandoned Dog and Ends Up Adopting Him
An unexpected friendship blossomed on the road when a state trooper met an abandoned dog, changing both of their lives forever.
Kayla Moore, a trooper with the Michigan State Police’s Gaylord Post, responded to a call about a dog that had been left behind, according to the department.
She went to pick up the dog and gave her a ride to the local shelter. During the trip, they started to form a special bond. “Trooper Moore and the dog seemed to be a perfect match,” MSP wrote on Twitter.
When they arrived at the Antrim County Animal Shelter, Trooper Moore wasn’t ready to say goodbye. Feeling that fate had brought them together, she decided to adopt the sweet dog herself.
She named the dog Rosie and welcomed her into her home, giving her a loving forever family—a truly happy ending to their story.
The MSP Seventh District shared that Rosie was part of a litter of dogs their canine teams had been searching for, and that she was one of many dogs recently abandoned in the area.
The department encouraged people to help by adopting other dogs waiting in shelters. What a heartwarming story—we’re so glad that Rosie has a home ❤️ It truly seems it was meant to be.
