Guy Races To Shelter To Save Dog With Only 5 Minutes Left To Live

Alan Calimbas, a passionate animal rescuer, was heartbroken when he learned that Pearl, a sweet dog in Riverside County, California, was scheduled for euthanasia due to overcrowding at the shelter. With just 24 hours to act, Alan booked a flight from Toronto to Los Angeles to save her.

Arriving just five minutes before the deadline, Alan rushed to the shelter and took Pearl out for her first walk to freedom. The moment she realized she was free, Pearl’s tail wagged uncontrollably, showing her joy and relief.

Though underweight and exhausted, Pearl’s eyes sparkled with hope. Alan treated her to her first burger before taking her to PetSmart, where she joyfully explored the aisles and discovered toys for the first time. Later, at a pet-friendly hotel, Pearl marveled at the TV and enjoyed her first-ever bed, playing like a carefree pup.

The next day, Pearl’s new family was waiting at the airport. It was love at first sight, and Pearl showered them with kisses, giving Alan a heartfelt thank-you before leaving. Now in her forever home, Pearl is thriving, hiking, and most of all, enjoying the love she had longed for. Thank you, Alan, for giving her the second chance she deserved.
